Sitting around the piano writing songs has been second nature to me all my life. My first composition was written at 17 for my high school graduation. At the end of the song, the last line I spoke was: "Class of '79 dismissed. I already miss you." My parents and friends later told me the entire graduating class stood to their feet and threw their caps in the air — that wasn't supposed to happen! At a young age I knew this was something I loved to do, and over the years I have written countless songs.
In 2002 I got a song published with Christian singer/songwriter Kathy Troccoli on her album "The Heart of Me" — the song "You're Still God", and the album was nominated for a Grammy. The first wedding song I ever wrote was for my husband, and since that song I have been asked to sing it at countless weddings and to custom-write wedding songs for so many people. I have written songs for baby baptisms, dedications, anniversaries, birthdays, funerals, and just to say "I love you". It brings me so much joy to be able to put other people's stories to song.
It's simple: you place a call with me and we discuss your story. If you live in New York or anywhere close, we can meet for a session. If you're out of state, we can have the session by phone or FaceTime. I want to hear your heart — what you want to say in the song, who you want to say it to. I'll help with questions.
We'll have 2 sessions by phone, then I'll get right to work creating your masterpiece. I'll send you a form covering what to expect from me and what I expect from you. A deposit is needed before I start, with payment in full at completion. The song is recorded in a studio with piano and vocal — if you'd like a larger production with string players or other musicians, that's an extra fee we can discuss after the song is written. Turnaround time is about one month.
After final payment I'll deliver your song by email, CD, or Google Drive — whatever works for you. For an extra fee, I'm happy to sing the song at your wedding or event.
